INTRODUCTION: In an era characterized as ‘pandemic’, humanization measures of landscapes take priority in confronting adversities imposed on the contemporary city, such as those derived from the recent coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19), especially during periods prior to, synchronously with, and following health crises. AIMS: Faced with this problem, the general objective of the research is to evaluate these types of solutions within the scope of management in Latin American cities, due to their recognized social and urban vulnerability. MATERIALS AND METHODS: To achieve this goal, the recently initiated investigation with a diverse methodological structure, exploratory nature, and qualitative-quantitative character, is organized into three basic phases: procedural basis, with definition of its theoretical-systemic focus; empirical experimentation, with the establishment of geographic-descriptive and critical-analytical frameworks; and integrated systematization, with the organization of practical-propositional approach. RESULTS: To deepen knowledge about the topic, the partial results of the work, which are not yet conclusive due the need for additional data search, are related to the first specific objective, that is, to identify foundations for theoretical-conceptual panels relevant to the subject. Preliminarily, 38 scientific reference articles were found, extracted from Web of Science’s main collection, using a specific bibliometric protocol based on strings parameters, with the application of filters to guide the selection determined by inclusion and exclusion criteria relating to the most relevant texts for the study. These are in the stages of detailed reading and systematic review of their contents. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: In summary, the study findings should encompass responses to the investigative question about the main solutions, from different perspectives, for (post-)pandemic cities in Latin America. In this scope, they must orient the testing of the hypothesis that appropriate physical-territorial, socioeconomic, technical-technological, and political-institutional strategies can promote the humanization of urbanized landscapes, including to face future pandemic phenomena.

KEYWORDS: Physical-territorial perspectives; Socioeconomic opportunities; Technical-technological alternatives; Political-institutional directions; Landscape-urbanistic guidelines.
