INTRODUCTION: The advancement of the economy, culture, and technology was the reason for changes within education, which had to be modified to enter the modern world. Therefore, the search for innovation and the implementation of internationalization programs have increased, seeking to compete on equal terms with renowned institutions. In this way, PUCPR created the internationalization program called Global Class, which consists of an internationalization experience for students and teachers within their university, without leaving their country. AIMS: The following project aims to study the profile and perspective of English Language Professor’s Assistants – so-called monitors, who are part of the PUCPR Internationalization Program. MATERIALS AND METHODS: For this, bibliographical research was done to collect the literature to support the research data; seven study materials were selected, such as Salgado et al. (2009), Martinez and Fernandes (2020), Green (2010), Lee (2019), Fernandes (2017) and two PUCPR Program manuals: Global Classes (2018) and PUCPR Monitor Program (2024). RESULTS: The research results consist of young monitors engaged in their pedagogical practice, who are, for the most part, knowledgeable in the second language, and confident in the classroom in front of students; the research also gathered data that monitoring is of excellent help in understanding a vision of the future, as it helps monitors in deciding whether or not to continue teaching. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The effectiveness of the Internationalization Program was concluded, although there is a need to implement a training program for monitors, the monitors can use the program to carry out their teaching and have the support and security of trained teachers. Finally, we comment on a possible line of future research, on new ways of training and applying the practice of monitors in the classroom, to continue to seek excellence and improvements for PUCPR.
