INTRODUCTION: Following the example of large urban centers the City of Curitiba, PR continues to grow with similar problems in all metropolises among them the urbanization process. OBJECIVES: This process collaborates with significant environmental changes and impacts, contributing more and more to soil sealing, causing serious problems in the sanitation infrastructure especially in urban drainage, which is easily seen on days of heavy rainfall, through flooding in various parts of the city. MATERIALS AND METHOD: Technically there are methodologies and tools through which it is possible to previously identify these areas and propose alternatives to mitigate possible damage. Another way would be to evaluate how the population reacts to these events seeking information through voluntary data. This research main objective is to analyze the perception of the population regarding flooding in the city of Curitiba, PR, through internet surveys. In the first moment, this work was dedicated exclusively to two activities. First, the gathering of bibliographic materials and sources. Second with the purpose of investigating the main points of flooding in the city of Curitiba, PR an electronic form was created on the Google Forms platform. The methodology adopted was the construction of a survey with an electronic form, via Google. As the main form of dissemination the social medias WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram were used, as well as QR codes. RESULTS: The main result that can be explored so far is that flooding is present in most of the neighborhoods where respondents were found, and that the population associates flooding with the presence of rivers or streams. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The research needs to be widely applied in order to have a more effective result, which can characterize the view of the population of Curitiba, PR as a whole.
