INTRODUCTION: Chronic low back pain is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, affecting more than half a billion people. Its psychological consequences, quality of life and interference in the whole individual, being associated with psychological symptoms and depression. These are related aspects that impact the way each individual deals with pain. – OBJECIVES: This study aimed to translate and validate a low back pain coping program. – MATERIALS AND METHOD: The material was translated from English to Portuguese and then an adjustment from the target language to the English language was necessary. Then, the program was applied to verify its validity among patients at the pain clinic (Hospital do Cajuru). – RESULTS: 6 sessions were developed, in remote format, with topics such as: exercises to help reduce low back pain, learn skills to deal with low back pain, such as physical education practice according to pain and set goals, understand about the fear of moving and doing activities when in pain, and by contesting the effects of worrying about pain and feedback. In the first, we obtained a sample of 3 participants, a number that was reduced from just 1 participant in the second session and remaining during the meeting as it happened. During the meetings, with the adherence of only one patient, it was possible to perceive the influence of limiting beliefs regarding the impact on coping with low back pain and the importance of managing and recognizing these thoughts to change the pain cycle. – FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Low back pain programs should include interdisciplinary activities, especially focused on thought management, since negative thoughts influence other activities to be done during the day, causing an increase in pain and the consequent lack of movement and activities. it is necessary to modify them to change this cycle and maintain consistency in carrying out activities and meeting objectives.
