INTRODUCTION: This study aimed to obtain information about the health and demographic profile of the horses that integrate Hippotherapy centers in Brazil. OBJECIVES: Data were obtained through a portal by E. Watson et al. (2020) and sent via Google Forms® to all centers registered by the National Association of Riding Therapy (ANDE-BRASIL). MATERIALS AND METHOD: In addition to the translation and adaptation, five new questions were included (12, 13, 14, 25, 26). For understanding, all the details were reviewed by professional partners of hippotherapy. The work was sent to 369 centers and responded by sixty-seven (18.2%). The data were tabulated in Excel spreadsheets and demonstrated through descriptive statistics. RESULTS: From the analysis, we observed that 401 horses were registered at the participating centers. Whole stallions account for 2% of the animals, while mares represent 35%, and geldings 63%. The predominant breeds are Saddle Horse (60%), Quarter Horse (31%) and Draft Horse (4%). The most present age group is between six and ten years old (32%), followed by eleven to fifteen years old (30%). The least common is children under five (6%). In relation to equine health, in 37% of centers, health assessment is carried out daily by an employee. The evaluation by a veterinarian is done monthly by 29% of the centers, while in only 1% it is done daily. In most cases, the vermifuge is administered every 3 months (59.8%). In 12% of the centers the horses do not receive dental care, in 74% the care is done annually or every six months. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The material acquired may indicate that the centers are carrying out good management practices. Information is unprecedented and can be used for studies and questions to promote new care with Equine Therapy horses in Brazil.
